DPC recently completed the design, supply and install of the mechanical and electrical works to 181 apartments @ the Black Horse Mills site. Works included a new plant room linked back to an off-site energy centre.
The apartments were split between 2 blocks 11 and 8 stories each. All services had to be linked back to the concierge centre.
Blackhorse Mills regenerates the former Ferry Lane Industrial Estate on the edge of Walthamstow’s wetlands; an array of landscaped area and reservoirs – transforming the area into an environmentally, sensitively designed ‘Build to Rent’ development.
479 new homes have been created across five blocks connected by an elevated terrace at podium level offering views across the water and an eclectic mix of amenities and activities for residents and the public.
Creating a strong sense of ‘community’ within this scheme was integral, with a strong emphasis on the design and integration of various communal areas within the buildings, which include: a heated outdoor Swimming Pool. an extensive Gym, an outdoor BBQ area, shared dining facilities for hire and doorstep play facilities for young children.
